There’s an old saying. Be accurate, not first. That rule unfortunately is not well suited in the days of Twitter. In the quest for clicks, publications want to be first, no matter whether that story turns out to be bogus in the end. This article is about Kai Kennedy, a player Rangers have high hopes from in the future.
He is currently on the verge of joining Dunfermline on loan until the end of the season. This move can be made official as early as today. Update: since this article was first published on Patreon, it has been made official.
This is after Rangers turned down 3 bids from West Ham United, the last one being around £1m. The Hammers are keenly following the youngster, along with a couple of more clubs from England. West Ham seems the keenest on Kennedy though at this time.
I got it confirmed from 3 sources (including EX WHU Employee) that the West Ham bid of £1m was real. The latest bid was supposed to be a real test of Rangers’ resolve but they turned it down immediately.
Kai Kennedy signed a new deal last season, so there is no immediate urge for the club to get excited by these bids. I have heard that West Ham believes that Rangers would accept £2m, but I highly doubt that.
Kennedy is frankly worth more and another successful loan spell at Dunfermline will only raise his value further.
