In a recent report, El Gol Digital claimed that Real Madrid could re-sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Pablo Sarabia this summer. It is believed that Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti is eager to bring the Spain international back to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium during this summer transfer window (via El Gol Digital).
Sarabia’s Inconsistent Season At Paris Recently
Sarabia has caught the eye with his dazzling performances for Spain in the UEFA European Championships after scoring one goal and securing two assists in three matches so far. The 29-year-old had an up and down season with PSG last season when he found the back of the net on seven occasions and earned four assists in 37 matches for the French outfit in multiple competitions.
However, Sarabia struggled to be consistent with his attacking contributions as he averaged 1.4 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Ligue 1. He has even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass success rate of 79.4% in the French first division (stats via whoscored).
The Spaniard’s current contract with PSG is set to run out in the summer of 2024, so Los Blancos could struggle to convince the French giants to part ways with their prized asset on a cut-price fee in this off-season.
What Will The Spanish Wide Player Add To Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?
Sarabia can make some quick dashes with the ball when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. He has got the vision to play a decisive pass in the attacking third and can also contribute by scoring a few important goals up top. The seven-time Spain international is a tidy passer of the ball but needs to figure out a way to be more consistent if he wants to win more trophies at the highest level.
Based on Sarabia’s excellent form in the Euros, it is no wonder that Los Blancos are looking at the idea of bringing him back to the Spanish capital this summer. The Spaniard knows the Madrid giants well from his time as a youth player and is good enough to serve as a decent player in Ancelotti’s match-day squad.
However, he is far too inconsistent, so there are some concerns over whether he would be able to earn regular game time at the Bernabeu in the coming seasons. We can expect Sarabia to add some goals and creativity to Ancelotti’s attack but he won’t be a good acquisition for them in the long run.
