France will lock horns with Portugal at the Puskas Arena on Wednesday night, hoping to pick up a win and secure a place in the knockout stages of the Euro 2020 tournament. Les Blues will be coming into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw vs Hungary. On the other hand, Fernando Santos’ men recorded a tragic 4-2 loss against Germany. Didier Deschamps will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game as Corentin Tolisso looks likely to get the nod over Adrien Rabiot. Below is the 4-3-3 France Predicted Lineup Vs Portugal.
4-3-3 France Predicted Lineup Vs Portugal
Defence
Hugo Lloris is expected to start in goal for the upcoming clash. The Tottenham shot-stopper would be looking to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Wednesday.
Presnel Kimpembe will continue to form the centre-half partnership with Raphael Varane at the heart of France’s backline.
Lucas Hernandez might replace Lucas Digne at the left-back position, whereas Benjamin Pavard is expected to start on the other flank as the right-back. The duo would be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
N’Golo Kante might start in the holding midfield position. However, the Chelsea star could be assigned more of a defensive role to shield the away side’s back-four.
Corentin Tolisso will slot into the central midfield role, whereas Paul Pogba is expected to start in the attacking midfield position. The Manchester United man would be determined to set up some clear cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Adrien Rabiot will have to settle for a place on the bench initially. However, he could be brought on in the second half of the match if needed.
Attack
Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing respectively.
Karim Benzema is expected to lead the line for his side against Portugal. The 33-year-old striker went quite close to getting his name on the scoresheet against Hungary. However, he’d hope to make his chances count when he faces off against the Portugal defence that ended up conceding four goals in their last game.
