In a recent report, Marca has mentioned that AC Milan want to re-sign Real Madrid winger Brahim Diaz on another loan deal this summer. It is understood that the Italian giants are planning to keep the Spanish playmaker for another year with his current loan spell from Los Blancos set to expire at the end of this campaign (via Marca).
Diaz’s Impressive Loan Spell At San Siro
Diaz is having a fruitful loan spell in Italian football after he produced a string of eye-catching displays as a key member of Stefano Pioli’s attack. He has scored seven goals and grabbed four assists in 37 matches for the Milan giants this term across all fronts.
The 21-year-old has done well to average 1.0 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A and the UEFA Europa League this season. Diaz has even been excellent when distributing possession in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 86.6% in both those competitions (stats via whoscored).
The Spanish sensation’s current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium runs out in the summer of 2025, so Zinedine Zidane can afford to let the winger leave on loan again if he thinks that it will benefit his career as a footballer in the long run.
What Should Be Zidane’s Play With Regards To Diaz This Summer?
Diaz is a moderately paced winger who has caught the eye because of his ability to dribble with the ball out on the wide areas. The former Manchester City youngster possesses terrific balance and close control that helps him to get out of tight spaces in the opposition half. He has added a few goals and assists to his name but still has a long way to go before he is ready to feature for Real Madrid regularly at the highest level.
It only seems logical for Zidane to think about sending Diaz out on loan again if he doesn’t plan to include him in his first-team plans for next season. On the other hand, Los Blancos would be wise to keep the Spaniard for the upcoming campaign as he could bolster their squad depth considerably and might even propel them towards competing for multiple trophies next year.
As far as the player is concerned, he would be better off sealing another loan move to Milan where he is slowly but surely growing into a top player. It would be integral for Diaz’s growth that he receives regular playing minutes wherever he ends up playing next season. Either way, it makes sense for the Madrid head coach to give Diaz the freedom to seal another loan move if he chooses to do so during this summer transfer window.
