Manchester United clashed heads with Fulham at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they looked to pick up a positive result on their home turf. Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock around the 15-minute-mark as he scored a screamer from 50 yards out to beat Areola in goal. The Red Devils seemed to be in complete control of the game after going 1-0 up; however, a 76th-minute equalising goal from Joe Bryan snatched two points from the hosts as the match ended 1-1.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the match against the Cottagers.
David de Gea – 7/10
The Spanish shot-stopper did whatever he could to help his side at the back. He made two stunning saves around the 60-minute-mark to help his side stay in lead, but he was ultimately let down by the pathetic defence.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5/10
The English right-back could have done better to stop Joe Bryan from scoring the equalizer.
Victor Lindelof – 3/10
Awful and pathetic defending from the Swedish centre-back. For a defender who is expected to keep everything in order at the heart of United’s defence, Lindelof is simply not fit for the job. He has no clue on how he should position himself and struggles to win the ball back in the simplest of challenges. With the Europa League final on the 26th of this month, the United fans should be dead worried about the state of their defence.
Axel Tuanzebe – 6/10
Tuanzebe didn’t make any major mistake but never looked convincing in the position either. He struggled to co-ordinate with Lindelof on several occasions which ultimately led to the concession of a goal.
Luke Shaw – 6.5/10
The Englishman often made overlapping runs to support United’s attacking gameplay down the left-flank. He looked decent defensively as well.
Scott McTominay – 8/10
The Scottish international seemed very calm and composed in possession tonight. He linked up the play quite well and made some ambitious runs in the opposition half as well.
Fred – 6/10
Even though the Brazilian midfielder lacked the creative intent in the opposition half, he did his defensive duties fairly well. He wasn’t afraid of putting in challenges in order to win the ball back.
Mason Greenwood – 6.5/10
The English youngster had a few good chances in front of the goal but he failed to convert any of them. His dribbling skills were excellent as usual.
Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
The Portuguese playmaker got himself the assist for Edinson Cavani’s goal and set up several chances for his teammates over the course of the match. He also tried to find the back of the net from distance on a couple of occasions but had no luck in doing so.
Paul Pogba – 6.5/10
The Frenchman failed to create much going forward tonight but his ball distribution at the centre of the park was quite decent.
Edinson Cavani – 8/10
The Uruguayan striker scored a wonder goal around the 15-minute-mark to break the deadlock. His movement in and around the box created loads of menace for the Fulham defence but it was his brilliant work rate that kept the opposition defenders on their knees.
SUBSTITUTES:
Marcus Rashford – 6/10
Failed to offer anything significant after coming on.
Amad Diallo – N/A
It was too late when he came on.

He came on around the 87th minute.
