However, it is understood that the Polish centre-forward is still undecided on his future with Man City showing interest in acquiring his services during the summer transfer period (via ESPN).
Lewandowski’s Excellent Form In German Football This Season
The Warszawa-born talent is having one of the best seasons of his playing career at Munich as he has banged in goals for fun as the focal point of Hans-Dieter Flick’s attack. Lewandowski has netted 46 goals and provided nine assists in 38 matches for the Bavarian giants this term across multiple competitions.
The experienced Poland international has been a consistent performer as Bayern’s primary frontman. He is averaging 4.4 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga this season. The 32-year-old has also distributed possession relatively well in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 77.3% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Lewandowski is still under contract at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2023, so the German outfit won’t be in any rush to cash in on him in this off-season, especially when he is in such great form for them over the past ten months.
