Chelsea will lock horns with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night hoping to pick up a positive result on home turf. The Blues will be coming into the match on the back of an impressive 2-1 win against league leaders Manchester City, whereas the Gunners recorded a 3-1 victory against West Brom Albion.
Thomas Tuchel will probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation with a few tweaks from the last game. Mason Mount might get the nod over Christian Pulisic, whereas Kai Havertz looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
3-4-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs Arsenal
Defence
Edouard Mendy will start in between the sticks for the upcoming home encounter. The Senegalese shot-stopper will hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Wednesday.
Thiago Silva is expected to start at the heart of Blues’ backline, whereas Antonio Rudiger will continue to feature at the left centre-back spot. Cesar Azpilicueta will fulfil the right centre-back position.
Having picked up an injury against Manchester City, Andreas Christensen looks set to miss the upcoming game.
“I hope, I hope, I hope that it’s not too bad and he can recover in the next few days. I’m not sure, but this [win] would be absolutely bittersweet if it’s a long injury.” – Thomas Tuchel revealed.
Midfield
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho will fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the former occupying a more central role. The pair would be looking to dominate the midfield proceedings.
Ben Chilwell will replace Marcos Alonso at the left wing-back position, whereas Reece James will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back.
Attack
Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech will slot into the attacking midfield roles. The duo would be determined to set up some clear cut goal-scoring chances for the front-men.
Kai Havertz will lead the line for the hosts against the Gunners. The German international would be hoping to find the back of the net when he faces off against the Arsenal defence that has kept two clean sheets in their last five league games.
Timo Werner might come on to make a cameo appearance in the second forty-five minutes.
