A product of the Ponte Prata youth academy in his native Brazil, Emerson Royal moved to Europe in 2019, joining Barcelona for a fee of €12 million. He was immediately shipped out to Real Betis, who had jointly signed him, although it is Barca who own 50% of the player’s right.
Nevertheless, Emerson has become one of La Liga’s highly rated right-backs during his time at Real Betis. He has already notched up 78 competitive appearances for the club, notably being involved in nine goals last season.
