Manchester City will entertain Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to end their Premier League campaign on a high by picking up maximum points from their final home game. The Mancunian giants suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek, so Pep Guardiola will be desperate to get a positive response from his players before the UEFA Champions League final against Chelsea later this month.
The Man City boss will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Benjamin Mendy, Fernandinho and Raheem Sterling could all get a start in this game as Guardiola looks to freshen up his first team for this home encounter versus the Toffees.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Ederson will feature in goal for Man City after shipping in three goals versus the Seagulls in his last league outing. Ruben Dias could resume his centre-back partnership with Nathan Ake as the defensive duo look to stop Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison from finding the back of the net throughout the game.
Kyle Walker is a major doubt for this game while Joao Cancelo can be ruled out of this clash due to suspension. Hence, John Stones might be asked to function as a makeshift right-back while Benjamin Mendy fills in on the other side as the left-back.
Eric Garcia will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.
Midfield
Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho will operate as the central midfielders for Man City as they look to dominate the ball and orchestrate some decent opportunities in the opponent’s half. They will have to keep the ball moving quickly and find some holes in the Everton backline this weekend.
Ilkay Gundogan is unlikely to be risked in this game but Kevin De Bruyne should be available for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Raheem Sterling will get a chance to impress on the left-wing while Riyad Mahrez fills in on the other flank as the right-sided wide player. Ferran Torres will probably get the responsibility to lead the charge for the Mancunian giants up top.
Gabriel Jesus will have to settle for a place on the bench and could make an impact in the latter stages of the game if needed.
