Liverpool will welcome Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they look to end their season by picking up a handsome victory at home which should be enough for them to book a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League. The Reds managed to earn a convincing 3-0 victory over Burnley in midweek which will give them a lot of confidence going into this final home game of this campaign.
Jurgen Klopp will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and could name an unchanged side for this clash. However, Naby Keita (muscle), Ozan Kabak (muscle), Diogo Jota (foot) and Ben Davies (muscle) are all sidelined for this game at Merseyside.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
Alisson Becker will operate in between the sticks for the Reds after securing a well-deserved clean sheet versus the Clarets in midweek. Rhys Williams will continue to feature alongside Nathaniel Phillips at the heart of the Liverpool backline as they try to keep Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke quiet during the 90 minutes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Andrew Robertson looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Klopp will ask both of them to be a bit more adventurous than usual so that they can create some clear-cut chances from the wide areas.
Billy Koumetio, Kostas Tsimikas and Neco Williams will be named on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara could once again make up the Reds midfield as they focus on controlling possession and dictating the flow of the game at the centre of the park so that they can orchestrate some meaningful openings in the attacking third.
James Milner, Xherdan Shaqiri and Curtis Jones will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if required.
Attack
Sadio Mane will get the nod to produce a productive performance from the left flank while Mohamed Salah looks to weave his magic from the right. The Egyptian winger is currently leading the Premier League’s golden-boot race along with Harry Kane, so he will be desperate to find the back of the net and pip the Tottenham Hotspur captain to the award this weekend.
Roberto Firmino opened the goal-scoring against the Clarets in midweek. Hence, the Brazilian striker will be in high spirits when he laces up to lead the line for Liverpool down the middle.
Both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Klopp opts to call upon their services.
