Barcelona will lock horns with Levante at Estadi Ciutat de València on Tuesday night as they look to pick a win and keep themselves firmly in the title race. The Catalans were held to a scoreless draw by Atletico Madrid in their last outing, so they will be eager to get back to winning ways in La Liga.
Ronald Koeman will probably stick with his favored 3-1-4-2 formation and is expected to make a couple of tweaks to his first-team for this game. Both Ronald Araujo and Sergi Roberto could get a chance to impress as the starters at the expense of Oscar Mingueza and Sergio Busquets who won’t be available due to a face injury.
3-1-4-2 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Levante
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will feature in between the sticks for Barca after securing a clean sheet in his last league outing. Koeman could opt for a back three of Ronald Araujo, Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet for this game. All three centre-backs will have to be solid at the back if the Catalan giants are to come out on top on Tuesday night.
Oscar Mingueza and Samuel Umtiti could make up the numbers on the bench as they offer cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong could fill in as a defensive midfielder in the injury absence of Sergio Busquets. The Dutch midfielder has previously played as a centre-half so he won’t have any trouble serving as a defensive presence for Barca as long as he gets the freedom to conduct plays out from the back.
Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto will operate as the box to box midfielders as they look to create some clear-cut goal-scoring chances in the final third. Pedri could get the nod to function as the left wing-back while Sergiño Dest gets an opportunity to impress down the right flank.
Miralem Pjanic and Riqui Puig will be available for selection on the bench but could come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Antoine Griezmann will play alongside Lionel Messi as Koeman’s primary strikers up top. Both of them struggled to be clinical in the final third. Hence, Koeman will rely on Lionel Messi’s brilliance once again as the Argentine maestro still possesses the ability to win this game for the Catalan outfit.
Ousmane Dembele will have to be content with a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to feature as an impact substitute if Koeman decides to call upon his services.
