Barcelona will face off against Eibar at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they look to end their La Liga campaign with a victory on the road. The Catalan giants suffered a shock 2-1 loss at the hands of Celta Vigo last weekend, so they will be eager to pick up maximum points in the league this weekend.
Ronald Koeman could stick with his favored 3-1-4-2 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first-team for this game. Neto and Frenkie de Jong are both set to start this game but Clement Lenglet will not be available for Barca due to suspension.
3-1-4-2 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Eibar
Defence
Neto will get the nod to operate in between the sticks for the Catalan outfit as Marc-Andre ter Stegen is sidelined because of a knee injury. Koeman could choose to go with a back three of Ronald Araujo, Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti for this game. Their main focus would be to keep things tidy at the back and stop the opposition from creating too many chances on the counter.
Midfield
Sergio Busquets will function as the primary defensive midfielder while both Jordi Alba and Frenkie de Jong operate as the box-to-box midfielders. All three of them will have to keep possession ticking at the centre of the park and find some holes in the Eibar backline this weekend.
Pedri will be a guaranteed starter down the left flank while Ousmane Dembele looks to impress on the other side as the right-sided wide player. The Barca wingmen will be instructed to get to the byline at every chance they get so that they can orchestrate a few clear-cut chances for their teammates inside the Eibar penalty box.
Riqui Puig, Sergino Dest, Francisco Trincão and Miralem Pjanic will make up the numbers on the bench as they provide cover for the midfield positions.
Attack
Antoine Griezmann will resume his attacking partnership with Lionel Messi up top. Messi managed to get his name on the scoresheet versus Celta Vigo last weekend, so he will be full of confidence going into this game.
Martin Braithwaite will have to settle for a place on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Koeman decides to call upon his services.
