Leicester City will lock horns with Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium on Friday night, hoping to pick up a positive result away from home. The Foxes will be heading into the contest on the back of an impressive 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, whereas the home side recorded a 2-1 loss against Tottenham Hotspur.
Brendan Rodgers will probably opt for the 5-3-2 formation with a couple of tweaks from their last match as Ricardo Pereira looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
5-3-2 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Southampton
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel is expected to start in goal for the Foxes, having kept two clean sheets in his last four outings across all competitions.
Brendan Rodgers could choose to field a back five consisting of Timothy Castagne, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Fofana and Ricardo Pereira as they look to keep things solid at the back on Friday.
However, their prime objective will be to keep Danny Ings quiet throughout the ninety minutes.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans will partner Ndidi at the centre of the park; however, they might be assigned very different roles. The former should take up a more defensive position, shielding the back three, whereas the latter will stay central, dictating play with his ball distribution.
James Maddison will start in the attacking midfield role. The Englishman would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Ayoze Perez will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Attack
Jamie Vardy will lead the charge for the Foxes down the middle. The English striker will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net when he faces off against the Southampton defence that has conceded eight goals in their last four matches.
Kelechi Iheanacho will take up the secondary striker position. He has been in fine form lately, and he’d to hoping to add to his goal-scoring tally against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
