Leicester City will lock horns with Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium on Monday night, hoping to pick up a positive result on their home turf. The Foxes will be heading into the contest on the back of a thumping 3-0 win over West Brom Albion, whereas the away side recorded a 4-1 loss against the Blues.
The hosts will probably opt for a 5-3-2 formation with a couple of tweaks from their last match as Ricardo Pereira looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
5-3-2 Leicester City Predicted Lineup Vs Crystal Palace
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel is expected to start in goal for the Foxes, having kept two clean sheets in his last four league outings.
Ricardo Pereira, who was given a complete rest against the Baggies in midweek, should be fit for the weekend.
“He took a blow to his calf at the weekend but hopefully should be fine.” – Brendan Rodgers stated in midweek.
As a result, he could choose to field a back five consisting of Timothy Castagne, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Fofana and Ricardo Pereira as they look to keep things solid at the back on Monday.
However, their prime objective will be to keep Wilfried Zaha quiet throughout the ninety minutes.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans will partner Ndidi at the centre of the park; however, they might be assigned very different roles. The former should take up a more defensive position, shielding the back three, whereas the latter will stay central, dictating play with his ball distribution.
James Maddison will start in the attacking midfield role. The Englishman would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Ayoze Perez will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Attack
Jamie Vardy will lead the charge for the Foxes down the middle. The English striker will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net when he faces off against the Palace defence that has kept two clean sheets in their last five league matches.
Kelechi Iheanacho will take up the secondary striker position. He has been in fine form lately, and he’d to hoping to add to his goal-scoring tally against Sam Allardyce’s side.
