Manchester United clashed heads with Leeds United at Elland Road earlier today as they looked to earn all three points on the road. Both sides fought hard in the first half but couldn’t manage to make the decisive breakthrough as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
The second 45 minutes was more of the same story as the two teams failed to find the cutting edge in the final third as the contest finished with Man United being held to a 0-0 draw at West Yorkshire.
Let’s take a look at how each Man United player performed during the match against the Whites.
GK: Dean Henderson – 7/10
The English keeper made some solid stops at the back and did well to secure a clean sheet away from home.
RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 8/10
Wan-Bissaka won the ball back multiple times for his side. He also cleared his lines when required and made some driving runs with the ball down the right flank.
CB: Victor Lindelof – 7/10
The Swedish defender kept things tidy at the back and engineered one good chance going forward.
CB: Harry Maguire – 7/10
He was strong in the air and performed well enough to keep Leeds’ Patrick Bamford quiet during the 90 minutes.
LB: Luke Shaw – 7.5/10
Shaw was mostly untroubled defensively but deserves a lot of credit for creating several decent opportunities for his teammates to score.
CM: Scott McTominay – 7/10
He was a strong presence in midfield but struggled to influence the game in the attacking third.
CM: Fred – 7/10
The Brazilian sensation disrupted the opposition’s rhythm in the game and orchestrated one decent chance in the Leeds half.
RM: Daniel James – 6.5/10
James completed some promising dribbles with the ball but was toothless in the final third.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
The Portuguese playmaker was not shy of having a shot at goal but didn’t do enough to get his name on the scoresheet.
LM: Marcus Rashford – 6/10
Rashford caused a few problems for the Whites defenders but lacked quality in front of the opponent’s goal.
ST: Mason Greenwood – 7/10
Greenwood was a constant menace for the Leeds centre-backs but was guilty of missing some good chances during the game.
Substitutes:
CM: Paul Pogba – 6.5/10
The French midfield ace had a few bright moments but didn’t do enough to win the game for his side.
ST: Edinson Cavani – N/A
He hardly had any time to make an impact.
CAM: Donny van de Beek – N/A
The Dutchman came on to run the clock down.
