Manchester City will clash heads with Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night as the teams look set to resume their UEFA Champions League campaign. The Citizens will be heading into the contest on the back of an impressive 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup finals, whereas Mauricio Pochettino’s men recorded a 3-1 win against Metz in Ligue 1.
Pep Guardiola will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with several tweaks from the last game. Gabriel Jesus might get the nod over Raheem Sterling, whereas Oleksandr Zinchenko looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Paris Saint-Germain
Defence
Ederson Moraes will replace Zack Steffen in between the sticks for the upcoming away encounter. The Brazilian shot-stopper will be hoping to add to the tally of six clean sheets in nine European matches on Wednesday.
Aymeric Laporte will form the centre-half partnership with Ruben Dias at the heart of City’s backline.
Oleksandr Zinchenko will start at the left-back position, whereas Joao Cancelo fills in on the other flank as the right-back. The full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Rodri is expected to replace Fernandinho in the holding midfield position and could be assigned more of a defensive role to shield the away side’s back-four.
Ilkay Gundogan will slot into the central midfield role, whereas Kevin de Bruyne is expected to start in the attacking midfield position. The duo will be hoping to put up a strong performance and dominate the midfield proceedings in midweek.
Bernardo Silva will have to settle for a place on the bench but might come on in the latter stages of the game if called upon.
Attack
Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing respectively.
Gabriel Jesus will lead the line for the visitors against Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian international will be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the PSG defence that has kept just one clean sheet in their last five matches across all competitions.
Veteran striker Sergio Aguero might be brought on in the second forty-five minutes of the contest if needed.
