Arsenal clashed heads with Liverpool at the Emirates earlier tonight as they looked to secure all three points on their home turf. However, it didn’t quite go according to the plan for the hosts as Jurgen Klopp’s side secured a comfortable 3-0 victory at the end of the day. Diogo Jota scored a spectacular brace after coming on for Andrew Roberston in the second half, whereas Mohamed Salah got his name on the scoresheet by converting from close range. It’ll be fair to say that the Reds deserved to travel back with all the three points today.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player performed during the clash against the Reds.
Bernd Leno – 5/10
The German shot-stopper didn’t have anything to do till the 60th minute except for kicking the ball upfield, but he ended up conceding three goals in the next 30 minutes.
Calum Chambers– 5/10
The full-back had a very average game defensively and could hardly create anything forward.
Rob Holding – 4.5/10
The Englishman put up an awful performance tonight as he seemed to lack concentration at the back. Furthermore, Gabriel made up for his mistakes on several occasions.
Gabriel – 5/10
The Brazilian defender had a near-perfect match tonight; however, he committed two careless mistakes late in the game, which ended up costing his side.
Kieran Tierney – 6/10
The Scottish left-back hardly put a foot wrong throughout the game but was forced off the pitch due to an unfortunate injury right before the 45-minute-mark.
Dani Ceballos – 6/10
The Spaniard lacked the creative intent in the opposition half.
Thomas Partey – 6/10
The Ghana international wasn’t afraid of making challenges to win the ball back at the centre 0f the park. Furthermore, he dropped back whenever needed to support the back-four.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 5/10
The Gabonese wide man struggled to co-ordinate with his team-mates throughout the match and was later replaced by Gabriel Martinelli around the 77-minute-mark.
Martin Odegaard – 5.5/10
It was perhaps a disappointing night for the Real Madrid loanee who took up all the right positions but never got enough of the ball.
Nicolas Pepe – 5/10
The Ivory international hardly had any sort of influence on the game.
Alexandre Lacazette – 5.5/10
The Frenchman lacked the proper service tonight. Besides, it never really looked like he had a goal in him.
SUBSTITUTES:
Cedric Soares – 6/10
The Portuguese defender was subbed in for the injured Kieran Tierney right before the half-time whistle.
Mohamed Elneny – 6/10
He was supposed to be a fresh addition to the Gunners’ midfield but looked rather frustrated as the game went on.
Gabriel Martinelli – 6/10
The 19-year-old didn’t really have much to offer after coming on for Aubameyang around the 77-minute-mark.
