In a recent report, The Daily Mail has revealed that Everton are open to entertaining offers for Moise Kean who is currently playing on loan at Paris Saint-Germain. The Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti recently provided an update on the Italian striker’s future and said (via The Daily Mail),
‘I don’t have to convince him to stay.
‘He is on loan and he has to come back. If PSG want him, they have to open discussions.
‘We are open but if nothing happens he will be an important player next season.’
Kean’s Excellent Loan Spell At The French Capital
The 21-year-old is having an impressive loan spell in Paris after producing several productive displays as the spearhead of the PSG attack. Kean has registered 16 goals and provided one assist in 33 matches for the French outfit this term across various competitions.
The Vercelli-born talent has done well to average 2.1 shots, 0.3 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per game in this Ligue 1 campaign. He has even distributed the ball relatively well in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 79.2% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Kean has begun to show some promising signs with his performances for the Parisian outfit this season but there are still some lingering concerns over whether he is good enough to prove his worth in the Premier League next season if Ancelotti decides to keep him at the club.
Should The Toffees Cash In On Kean This Summer?
Kean is a moderately paced forward who can get himself into some promising areas in the attacking third of the pitch. He has proven himself to be a decent finisher in front of the opposition goal, so the Toffees have every reason to be stringent with his price tag this summer.
With Kean’s current contract at Goodison Park set to expire in the summer of 2024, it is no surprise that Everton are willing to play hardball and should only consider cashing in on him if the right offer comes in for him from Paris Saint-Germain or any other top European club this summer.
At 21, the Italian marksman is a player on the rise and could take great strides towards improving his game in the coming seasons. Hence, Ancelotti has no reason to sell him in this off-season unless he receives an offer he can’t refuse for his services.
As for the player, he would be better off sealing a permanent move to PSG where he has flourished playing under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino recently. If Kean goes on to win the UEFA Champions League trophy with his loan employers this season, the Merseyside club will be well-positioned to recoup the £36m they paid for the Italian starlet back in 2019.
