Tuttosport has recently reported that Everton are eyeing a move for Torino marksman Andrea Belotti this summer. However, it has been revealed that the Toffees could face competition in the form of AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in pursuit of the Italian striker during this summer transfer window (via Tuttosport).
Belotti’s Decent Goal-Scoring Numbers At The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
Belotti is having another solid season at Turin as he has been responsible for putting in some excellent displays as the focal point of Davide Nicola’s attack. The 27-year-old has found the back of the net on 12 occasions and provided six assists in 28 matches for the Italian outfit this term across various competitions.
The Calcinate-born sensation has performed well to average 1.0 tackles, 0.6 clearances, 3.2 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in this Serie A campaign. However, he needs to improve his accuracy when linking up play with his teammates in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 70.1% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
What Will The Italy International Add To Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?
Belotti is an experienced campaigner who is currently playing in his prime. He has transformed himself into an excellent finisher in the attacking third and can contribute in a lot of little ways in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
The Italian sensation has also got incredible strength and can be a real handful for any defender. He can contribute by scoring his fair share of goals via headers and is not afraid to get back and defend the opposition’s set-pieces when needed. However, Belotti has sometimes given away the ball cheaply in the opposition half and can fade in and out of matches.
At the moment, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has to recruit a fresh face this summer so that he can add some cover for Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Goodison Park next season. Belotti could be a good option for the Toffees as he is currently playing some of the best football of his career and would undeniably add more goals and physicality to the Toffees frontline.
All in all, Ancelotti would be wise to orchestrate a move to lure the Torino striker to Goodison Park in this off-season as he will also help Everton compete for a top-four place and even challenge for a major silverware in the years to come.
