Wolverhampton Wanderers will entertain Sheffield United at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday night as they hope to secure all three points at home. The West Midlands club managed to grind out a 1-0 victory over Fulham last Saturday, so they will be quietly confident about their chances of success versus the Blades this weekend.
Nuno Espirito Santo will opt for a 3-4-3 formation and could make a couple of tweaks to his first team for this clash in the Premier League. Willy Boly and Joao Moutinho are both expected to start at the expense of the injured duo of Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves.
3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Rui Patricio will resume his duties in between the sticks for Wolves after securing a clean sheet versus the Cottagers in his last league outing. Nuno Espirito Santo could go with a back three of Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Romain Saïss as they try to keep things solid at the back and restrict the Sheffield forwards from scoring throughout the 90 minutes.
Boly is a slight concern ahead of this game as he is still abiding by the government guidelines after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier this month. Max Kilman will be on stand-by just in case Boly fails to recover in time for this game.
Midfield
Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker will operate as the holding midfielders for Wolves this weekend. Their primary responsibility would be to shield their teammates on the defensive end of the field and dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park.
Rayan Aït-Nouri will get the nod to feature as the left wing-back while Nelson Semedo looks to catch the eye down the right flank. Both of them will be responsible for making some overlapping runs out on the wide areas so that they can create some meaningful openings for the front players.
Attack
Adama Traore will focus on producing a fruitful display as the left-winger while Daniel Podence gets a chance to shine from the right. Willian Jose will once again spearhead Nuno Espirito Santo’s attack down the middle.
Fabio Silva will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages if Wolves are in need of a goal.
