Chelsea entertained Everton at Stamford Bridge earlier this evening, looking to collect all three points at home. The Blues made a bright start to the game and took the lead in the 31st minute courtesy of an unfortunate own goal from Ben Godfrey. They managed to keep hold of their narrow advantage and went into the half-time break one goal to the good.
Jorginho made the points secure when he found the back of the net from the penalty spot, which gave the West London giants a comfortable 2-0 victory at the English capital.
Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player performed during the clash against the Toffees.
GK: Edouard Mendy – 6.5/10
The Blues keeper had just one save to make in the game and secured an easy clean sheet this evening.

The Spanish defensive ace cleared his lines when needed and managed to create a couple of inviting chances in the final third.
CB: Andreas Christensen – 7/10
The Danish centre-back got stuck in with a few tackles and even blocked a goal-bound shot from the opposition. He will be quite satisfied with the clean sheet.
CB: Kurt Zouma – 7/10
Zouma was strong in the air and passed the ball accurately from the back. He also won the ball back twice for his team.
RM: Reece James – 8/10
James performed his defensive duties well and made multiple dangerous runs out on the wide areas. He caused all kinds of problems for the Toffees and deserves to be a man of the match contender.
CM: Jorginho – 8/10
The Italian playmaker kept his composure to convert his penalty in the second half. He also made a couple of encouraging runs from midfield.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 7/10
He worked hard and distributed possession immaculately during the game. However, he struggled to orchestrate any meaning openings in the attacking third.
LM: Marcos Alonso – 8/10
The Spaniard was a real handful for Everton and managed to engineer quite a few decent goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates. He was not afraid to have a shot at goal and kept things solid at the back.
RAM: Timo Werner – 7/10
Werner made two good chances for others around him but was not clinical enough in front of the opponent’s goal.
LAM: Callum Hudson-Odoi – 7/10
The English youngster was full of energy and had some lively moments in the game. However, he ran out of ideas and got replaced after the hour mark.
ST: Kai Havertz – 6.5/10
The German attacker caused a few problems for the Toffees defenders but didn’t do nearly enough to get himself a goal.
Substitutes:
LAM: Mason Mount – 7/10
Mount came off the bench to produce a decent cameo. He created a couple of openings and also had a few shot attempts as well.
CM: N’Golo Kante – 6/10
He added some energy to the Chelsea midfield.
RAM: Christian Pulisic – N/A
He hardly had any time to make an impact.
