AS has recently reported that Barcelona are set to rival Real Madrid for Valencia youngster Fabio Blanco, who has been dubbed as the ‘new Ferran Torres’. It has been revealed that the Catalans are eyeing a move for the Spanish wing wizard when his contract runs out at the end of this campaign (via AS).
Blanco’s Recent Rise In Spanish Football
The Almeria-born sensation has produced some dazzling displays for Valencia at various youth levels this season. Blanco has a lot of pressure riding on his shoulders as he is expected to become ‘the next superstar in Spanish football’.
The 17-year-old operates in a similar playing style to Manchester City’s Ferran Torres due to his excellent dribbling ability out on the wide areas. However, the Spanish Under-16 international’s contract with Valencia will expire this summer which could open the door for Barca to bring him to Catalonia on a free transfer.
Blanco has the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday, so Barca will do well to get a deal done for him so that they can build towards a bright future at the Nou Camp.
What Are The Spanish Prospect’s Strengths?
Blanco is a quick and agile winger who can be quite tricky to cope with because of his ability to breeze past his marker in the opposition half. He showcases excellent ball control when running at full swing and can be a tidy finisher in the attacking third.
The Spanish whizkid can cut inside or get to the byline and cause all sorts of problems for the opposition defenders. However, he is still too young to feature at the senior level but could be in line to have a successful career in European football if he can fulfil his true potential. At 17, the talented wide player has plenty of time to develop himself into a prolific goal-scorer in senior football.
Is Blanco A Prospect For The Future?
Blanco is undeniably a prospect to look out for in the future and would be a brilliant addition to Barcelona’s La Masia where he might blossom into a world-class winger in the years to come. He is considered amongst Spain’s brightest youngsters, so it won’t be easy for Barca to fend off competition from Real Madrid in the race to acquire the player’s services this summer. With all things considered, there is no denying that Blanco is a star in the making and has got what it takes to become a future great at the Nou Camp.
