West Ham United will lock horns with Arsenal at London Stadium on Sunday evening, hoping to pick up a positive result on their home turf. The Hammers will be heading into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Manchester United, whereas Mikel Arteta’s men lost 1-0 to Olympiacos in the Europa League.
David Moyes will probably opt for his usual 4-2-3-1 formation against the Gunners; however, the Scottish tactician is expected to make a couple of changes for the upcoming home encounter.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski will continue to operate in between the sticks for the Hammers. The Polish international has kept two clean sheets in his last six starts across all competitions and will be looking to add to his tally on Sunday.
Issa Diop will form his customary centre-half partnership with Craig Dawson at the heart of West Ham’s backline. The pair would be hoping to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet this weekend.
Vladimir Coufal is a guaranteed starter at the right-back spot, whereas Aaron Cresswell will fill in on the other flank as the left-back. Up against Arsenal, the full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek will continue to feature alongside Declan Rice in the holding midfield position, with the latter being assigned with more of a defensive role to shield the home side’s back-four.
Jesse Lingard will slot in the attacking midfield position to complete the midfield trio. The English international will be determined to engineer some clear-cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Manuel Lanzini will have to settle for a place on the bench but might come in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Attack
Jesse Lingard will be accompanied by Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen on either side, playing on the left and right-wing respectively.
Michail Antonio will lead the line for the hosts this weekend. The 30-year-old will be hoping to find the back of the net when he faces off against the Arsenal defence that has conceded five goals in their last five games across all competitions.
