Manchester City will clash heads with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday night, hoping to pick up all three points and stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table. Pep Guardiola’s men managed to earn a 5-2 victory over Southampton in midweek, which will keep them in high spirits going into this upcoming showdown at the English capital.
The Mancunian outfit will set themselves up in a 4-3-3 formation and are expected to make a few tweaks to their starting XI for this weekend’s clash versus the Cottagers. Rodri, John Stones and Joao Cancelo could be named in Guardiola’s first-team as the Man City manager looks to freshen things up for this game.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
Ederson will operate in goal for the away side after shipping in two goals versus the Saints earlier this week. John Stones could get the nod to operate alongside Ruben Dias at the heart of the Man City defence as they focus on keeping a solid shape at the back on Saturday.
Kyle Walker is expected to continue at right-back while Joao Cancelo comes into the team to function as the left-back. Guardiola will allow both of them to be a bit more adventurous than usual so that they can engineer some meaningful openings in the final third.
Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy will have to settle for a place on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri and Bernardo Silva could make up the Man City midfield this weekend. The talented trio will be responsible for establishing their superiority over the Cottagers at the centre of the park.
Fernandinho will be available for selection on the bench as Guardiola looks to rest his legs after the Brazilian veteran played the whole 90 minutes against Southampton on Wednesday evening.
Attack
Raheem Sterling will look to stretch the pitch using his pace out on the left flank while Riyad Mahrez looks to weave his magic from the right. The Algerian international managed to score a brace in midweek, which will give him a lot of confidence ahead of this game.
Kevin De Bruyne will lead the charge for the Premier League leaders in the attacking third. The Belgian international also scored two goals in his last league appearance, so he will fancy his chances of getting his name on the scoresheet once again this weekend.
Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Sergio Aguero will be named on the bench as they await their opportunity to come on and influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
