Leicester City will play hosts to Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon hoping to pull off an upset at home. The Foxes managed to beat Manchester United by a 3-1 scoreline in the FA Cup quarterfinals before the international break. Hence, we can expect them to be full of confidence going into this league encounter versus Pep Guardiola’s men.
Brendan Rodgers will set his team up in a 3-4-1-2 formation and is expected to make one change to his first-team for this weekend. Ricardo Pereira is a slight doubt for this game but should recover in time to operate at right-back at the expense of Marc Albrighton who will drop to the bench.
3-4-1-2 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester City
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will feature in goal for the East Midlands outfit after shipping in just one goal versus the Red Devils in his last domestic outing. Rodgers could opt for a back three of Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu as they try to keep things tidy at the back this weekend.
Christian Fuchs will have to settle for a place on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi will function as the holding midfielders as they work hard towards hampering Man City’s flow in the game at the centre of the park. Timothy Castagne will operate as the left wing-back while Ricardo Pereira could be in line to start down the right flank. Both Leicester wide men will have to figure out a way to stop the opposition from getting in behind them out on the wide positions.
Ayoze Perez could be given the license to play as a free-flowing attacking midfielder in the Man City half. However, James Maddison is unlikely to be risked in this game as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
Attack
Kelechi Iheanacho will once again get a chance to partner with Jamie Vardy up top. Iheanacho bagged a brace against Man United which helped Leicester book a place in the FA Cup semifinals, so he will be raring to go when he laces up to face off against the Man City defence on Saturday.
