Sipping on a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon Zoom call, St Johnstone centre back Liam Gordon couldn’t have come across more calm and controlled – qualities typical of the displays that he has put in for his hometown club so far this season…
But ask him about the upcoming League Cup Final against Livingston and his excitement is clear:
“I’m not going to lie I’m thinking about it all the time. We’ve got an opportunity to become legends.
“It means that little bit more to me because I know what this club means and if I was able to do that for my people it would be something that I would give everything for.”
Having established himself in the St Johnstone back line this season, captained the club and signed a new deal, things couldn’t be going much better for the towering ex-Hearts defender.
In this interview we talked at length about his upbringing in Perth, his youth career, learning his trade at Vladimir Romanov’s Hearts, moving back home and living his dream with Saints and loads more. Have a listen to this podcast interview with Liam Gordon of St Johnstone.
