Leeds United will have the chance to potentially overtake Arsenal when they take on Crystal Palace away on Monday. The Whites’ winning run was halted in the narrow defeat to Everton in midweek, but they will again look to get back on track with a victory against the Eagles who have secured two back-to-back wins Premier League.
Predicted Leeds United Lineup Vs Crystal Palace
Defence
Robin Koch and Diego Llorente remain on the sidelines for Leeds United in what has been a difficult season in the defensive unit. Marcelo Bielsa, therefore, has no option but to persist with the central defensive pairing of club captain Liam Cooper and the youngster Pascal Struijk.
Luke Ayling has been reinstated in his preferred right-back position in recent weeks, and things are unlikely to change on Monday. His trademark forays down the flanks could be useful against Palace, with Ezgjan Alioski also hoping to provide the same service on the opposite flank.
Illan Meslier is another guaranteed starter as the Frenchman continues to get the nod ahead of Kiko Casilla in between the sticks. The young goalkeeper is looking for his first clean sheet of this calendar year.
Midfield
Stuart Dallas has been a revelation for Leeds United in the central midfield role. The Scot has offered the necessary support for Kalvin Phillips in the number six slot, thus solidifying the second line of press. His urgency and work-ethic could again be crucial against Palace, although the fullback is more than capable of causing a threat going forward.
In a more advanced role, Rodrigo Moreno remains a doubt so we can expect Mateusz Klich to retain his place in the side. The Pole has the ability to pick out forward passes that could be useful in this game.
Attack
It was refreshing to see Raphinha getting back to full fitness and starting against Everton in midweek. He remains a guaranteed starter for Whites in the right-wing slot, with Jack Harrison featuring on the opposite flank. These two are hoping to provide the supply for lone striker Patrick Bamford on Monday.
Bielsa do have a host of other options, including Ian Poveda, Helder Costa and Tyler Roberts. Pablo Hernandez is another alternative should the Argentine opt for a more creative approach.
