Manchester United will lock horns with Everton at the Old Trafford on Saturday night hoping to pick up a win and continue their strong run of form in the Premier League. The Red Devils will be heading into the contest on the back of an emphatic 9-0 victory over Southampton whereas the Toffees managed to secure a narrow 2-1 win versus Bielsa’s men midweek.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game. Anthony Martial might get the nod over Edinson Cavani whereas Paul Pogba looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup Vs Everton
Defence
David de Gea will operate in between the sticks for the upcoming home encounter. Having secured four clean sheets in his last six league matches, the Spanish shot-stopper will be hoping to add to his tally this week.
Victor Lindelof will form the centre-half partnership with skipper Harry Maguire at the heart of United’s backline.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a guaranteed starter at the right-back position whereas Luke Shaw will continue to fill in on the other flank, as the left-back. The latter has been in blistering form over the past few months, and he would be looking forward to adding to his streak of impressive performances against the Toffees.
Midfield
Scott McTominay is expected to start in the defensive midfield position this weekend. The Scottish international has been of great defensive importance to Solskjaer lately and should be given a start if fully fit. Besides, Paul Pogba might return to feature in the central midfield position.
Bruno Fernandes will slot into the attacking midfield role. The Portuguese playmaker was at his sparkling best against the Saints as he got himself a goal and a couple of assists, and he’ll be hoping to repeat more of the same on Saturday.
Fernandes will be accompanied by Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood on either side, playing on the left and right-wing respectively.
Donny van de Beek will have to settle for a place on the bench but might come on in the latter stages of the game if called upon.
Attack
Anthony Martial will lead the line for the hosts against Everton. Having gotten two goals midweek, the Frenchman will be heading into the match in high spirit, hoping to pick up from where he left off in midweek.
Veteran striker Edinson Cavani remains a concern ahead of the weekend clash as he picked up a minor ankle injury in the first half of the match against the Saints.
“He was good, but he got a bad tackle on his ankle, so there was no point taking any risks. Hopefully, it doesn’t swell up too much.” – Solskjaer revealed.
