Manchester United faced off against Everton at the Old Trafford earlier tonight hoping to pick up a win and continue their strong run of form in the Premier League. It turned out to be a highly entertaining watch for the neutrals as the hosts took charge of proceedings in the first-half whereas the visitors showed tremendous courage and determination to complete a comeback in the second forty-five minutes. However, the 95th-minute goal from Calvert-Lewin changed the complexion of the entire match as the Englishman made it 3-3 to snatch a point for Ancelotti’s men.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the match against the Toffees.
David de Gea – 4/10
The Spanish shot-stopper made a pathetic mistake early into the first-half which allowed Abdoulaye Doucoure to score an easy goal from half a yard out. Might have done better to stop Dominic Calvert-Lewin from scoring the equalising goal in stoppage time as well.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5/10
The English right-back showed an attacking intent down the right flank and was fairly decent with the defensive duties in his own-half.
Harry Maguire – 5/10
The skipper looked callous at the back as the hosts shipped three goals in the second forty-five minutes.
Victor Lindelof – 5/10
The Swedish centre-back looked way too sluggish and nervous under pressure. Besides, he failed to communicate properly with Harry Maguire as the duo miserably failed to keep things tight at the back.
Luke Shaw – 5.5/10
The Englishman looked sharp going forward but failed to exert his dominance defensively.
Scott McTominay – 7/10
The Scottish international impressed in the first half as he took complete control of the defensive midfield; however, he had to adjust a bit later on to fit Fred. Nonetheless, he got himself a goal in the second-half as he found the back of the net from Luke Shaw’s cross.
Paul Pogba – 6/10
The Frenchman sprayed some good passes upfield but was forced off the pitch around the 39-minute-mark due to a possible thigh injury.
Bruno Fernandes – 8/10
The Portuguese playmaker left the fans in awe as he scored a jaw-dropping goal deep into first-half to make it 2-0 for the hosts. He also went close to scoring a couple of times in the second half.
Marcus Rashford – 7/10
The English international’s pace and passing abilities created all sorts of trouble for the Everton backline. He got himself an assist as he delivered a pin-point cross for Edinson Cavani into the box.
Mason Greenwood – 7/10
The 19-year-old’s quick feet and slick movement down the right-wing kept Lucas Digne on his toes. Furthermore, he displayed an exceptional work rate which allowed his side to keep hold of the ball in the opposition half.
Edinson Cavani – 7.5/10
The Uruguayan striker scored the game’s first goal as he headed the ball past Robin Olsen from close range. Besides, his movement off the ball created loads of free space for the wingers.
SUBSTITUTES –
Axel Tuanzebe – N/A
Was brought on in the stoppage time.
Fred – 6/10
The Brazilian midfielder failed to impress as he lacked the creativity in the opposition half.
