Liverpool will entertain Everton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon as they look to return to winning ways at home. The Reds are in a wretched run of form in the Premier League at the moment as they have lost each of their last three league matches, conceding eight goals in the process. However, Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to secure an impressive victory over Red Bull Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week, which will keep them in high spirits going into this weekend’s Merseyside derby.
The Liverpool head coach will probably stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name an unchanged team for this crucial clash versus the Toffees. Hence, Curtis Jones could continue to feature as a box to box midfielder while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain settles for a spot on the bench.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Alisson Becker will operate in goal for the Reds after he kept a much-needed clean sheet in his last outing. Ozan Kabak will resume his centre-back partnership with Jordan Henderson at the heart of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep the Toffees attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been playing at a high level recently, so he will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Andrew Robertson fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Klopp will ask both of them to keep a good defensive line at the back and create some meaningful chances for their teammates in the final third.
Nathaniel Phillips and Neco Williams will make up the numbers on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Curtis Jones will continue to feature alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Thiago Alcantara in the Reds midfield. They will focus on dominating the ball and spraying some decent passes to the front players. Jones managed to bag an assist in midfield, so he will be eager to produce another good display this weekend.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second half if needed.
Attack
Sadio Mane will once again get the nod to function down the left flank while Roberto Firmino spearheads Klopp’s attack down the middle. Mohamed Salah will keep his place as the right-sided wide player following a run of impressive displays from him of late.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi will have to be content with a place on the bench but could come on to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
