West Ham United will face off against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night as they hope to win and book a place in the next round of the FA Cup. The Hammers were held to a scoreless draw away at Fulham in the Premier League, which has halted their momentum a bit going into this cup encounter versus the Red Devils.
David Moyes will once again set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals could all get a start in midweek at the expense of Jarrod Bowen, Jesse Lingard and Said Benrahma.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester United
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will continue to operate in goal for the East London outfit after keeping a clean sheet versus the Cottagers in his last domestic outing. Issa Diop could get the nod to feature alongside Fabian Balbuena at the heart of Moyes’ defence as they look to neutralise the threat of Man United’s Anthony Martial.
Ryan Fredericks might get a start at right-back while Aaron Cresswell fills in on the other side as the left-back. Both of them can expect a busy day’s work as they try to restrict the Man United wide players from getting in behind them out on the flanks.
Vladimír Coufal, Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna could all drop to the bench as Moyes looks to give them some rest.
Midfield
Mark Noble might anchor the midfield along with Declan Rice as they try to work hard towards offering enough protection for their teammates on the defensive end of the pitch. The promising trio of Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko will operate just ahead of them as part of the Hammers attack. Neither of them has been amongst the goals of late, so this game at the Threatre of Dreams could be an ideal occasion for them to find some form in front of the opponent’s goal.
Forward
Michail Antonio will spearhead Moyes’ attack up top. A goal at Old Trafford could do his confidence a world of good ahead of the business end of this campaign. Therefore, we can expect him to carry most of the attacking workload in the final third.
