Leicester City will entertain Leeds United at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to register a win in the Premier League. The Foxes were held to a 1-1 draw away at Everton in midweek, so they will be eager to return to winning ways at home this weekend.
Brendan Rodgers will probably set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be inclined to make one tweak to his team for this game. Nampalys Mendy is likely to be named in Rodgers’ starting XI at the expense of Wilfred Ndidi who will miss out because of a hamstring injury.
4-2-3-1 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will feature in goal for the Foxes after shipping in one goal versus the Toffees in his last league start. Wesley Fofana will partner Jonny Evans at the heart of the Leicester backline as they look to neutralise the threat of Leeds’ Patrick Bamford during the game.
James Justin will be a nailed-on starter at left-back while Timothy Castagne looks to impress on the other side as the right-back. Rodgers will give both of them the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the final third.
Daniel Amartey and Caglar Soyuncu will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Nampalys Mendy will get the nod to operate along with Youri Tielemans in the holding midfield positions as they try to establish their superiority at the centre of the park. Tielemans managed to get his name on the scoresheet versus Everton, which was enough to earn his team a point. So the Belgian will be keen on replicating a similar display versus the Whites this weekend.
Harvey Barnes will focus on giving a good account of himself down the left flank while Marc Albrighton hopes to work his socks off as the right-sided winger. James Maddison will function in the number ten position and is likely to carry most of his team’s creative burden in the opposition half.
Hamza Choudhury will have to settle for a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages if required.
Attack
Ayoze Perez will once again lead the line for the East Midlands outfit in the injury absence of Jamie Vardy. Kelechi Iheanacho would serve as Perez’s back-up on the bench.
