Tottenham Hotspur clashed heads with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium as they looked to secure a positive result on the road. Spurs made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 17th minute when Leandro Trossard found the back of the net for the Seagulls. Jose Mourinho’s men failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time break one goal down on the scoreline.
Both sides fought hard in the second 45 minutes but couldn’t manage to add to the goal tally as the match ended with the North London outfit suffering a poor 1-0 loss in the Premier League.
Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham player fared during the clash against the Seagulls.
GK: Hugo Lloris – 6.5/10
The French made a few solid saves to restrict the Seagulls to just one goal during the game. However, he was quite sloppy when passing the ball out from the back.
CB: Davinson Sanchez – 6/10
He made some important clearances in the first half but got replaced at half-time.
CB: Toby Alderweireld – 7.5/10
The Belgian centre-back stood strong and made multiple last-gasp clearances to come to his team’s rescue. However, his good defensive work were not enough in the end.
CB: Joe Rodon – 6.5/10
Rodon pulled off a couple of crucial interceptions during the game but will be disappointed after conceding an early goal.

He did not put a foot wrong in the game defensively and also .showed great desire to get forward
CM: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg – 6.5/10
Hojbjerg made life difficult for the Brighton midfielders but failed to create any meaningful chances in the final third.
CM: Tanguy Ndombele – 7/10
The French sensation was always willing to help his teammates out in defence and made a few promising runs in the opposition half.
RM: Moussa Sissoko – 7/10
Sissoko put on a real shift defensively and even had a few bright moments during the game.
LAM: Heung-min Son – 6.5/10
The South Korean international was Mourinho’s best hope for a goal today. However, he squandered some good chances and was toothless in front of the Brighton goal.
RAM: Gareth Bale – 5/10
The Welsh winger made one good run down the right flank. Otherwise, he was mostly ineffective and got replaced at the hour mark.
ST: Steven Bergwijn – 6/10
Bergwijn never looked like he had a goal in him as he failed to find the cutting edge in the final third.
Substitutes:
ST: Carlos Vinicius – 6.5/10
The Brazilian forward was bright and lively after coming off the bench at half-time.
RAM: Lucas Moura – 6/10
Moura showed some signs of promise but didn’t do nearly enough to equalise and get his team back into the game.
CAM: Erik Lamela – 6/10
