Manchester United faced off against Burnley at the Turf Moor earlier tonight hoping to win and go top of the Premier League table. Both sides battled hard in the first 45 minutes but struggled to net the opener as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
The Red Devils got a foothold in the game in the second half and finally managed to make the breakthrough in the 71st minute when Paul Pogba scored with his deflected attempt. Man United hung on to their narrow lead and secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory away at Lancashire.
Let’s take a look at how each Man United player fared during the clash against the Clarets.
GK: David de Gea – 6/10
The Spaniard was not tested during the 90 minutes and secured one of the easiest clean sheets of his life.

CB: Eric Bailly – 7/10
Bailly did his job when called into action and earned a valuable shutout on the road. Solskjaer will be quite happy with his performance tonight.
CB: Harry Maguire – 7/10
Maguire just about did enough to keep Chris Wood quiet during the game. He was a rock at the back and helped his team get over the line with the clean sheet intact.
LB: Luke Shaw – 7/10
Shaw maintained a good shape in defence and also managed to engineer a couple of decent opportunities for others around him.
CM: Nemanja Matic – 7/10
The Serbian international shielded his teammates at the back quite well and was tidy with his ball-distribution.
CM: Paul Pogba – 8.5/10
Pogba often outfoxed the opposition with his clever touches in midfield and bossed the game at the centre of the park. He popped up with the winning goal in the 71st minute after his powerful volley saw the ball deflect into the Burnley net.
RM: Marcus Rashford – 7/10
The English attacker was always willing to run with the ball and got himself an assist for setting up Pogba’s goal in the second half.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
The Portuguese playmaker was a real headache for the Burnley defenders and was not shy of having a shot at goal.
LM: Anthony Martial – 6/10
The French striker got plenty of chances to find the back of the net but failed to take any of them.
ST: Edinson Cavani – 6.5/10
The Uruguayan centre-forward worked hard but struggled to find the finishing touch in front of the Clarets goal.
