According to Daily Mail, Leeds United are among clubs monitoring Yan Dhanda. The Swansea midfielder has impressed the onlookers with his performances in the Championship. He also faces an uncertain future at the club, who could be forced into a sale amid financial crisis inflicted by the pandemic. As a result, the likes of Leeds United, along with Bournemouth, RB Leipzig and Marseille have been put on red alert.
Yan Dhanda’s Rapid Rise To Prominence
A former member of the Liverpool youth academy, Yan Dhanda had joined Swansea back in 2018, in search of a breakthrough in professional football. He made only five Championship appearances during his debut campaign, but 16 appearances followed it in the backend of the following campaign.
However, this season, Dhanda has really stepped up a gear, becoming one of the vital players for the Swans. An Englishman with Indian descendants, the attacking midfielder has mustered 750 minutes of league football so far.
Although his tally of just one goal and one assist may seem disappointing, his on-field contributions have been far greater. In fact, the youngster has averaged almost one key pass and 1.7 attempted dribbles per 90 minutes. He has also shown a willingness to find the back of the net, attempting a total of 12 shots, with 10 of them coming from outside the box.
As far as the style of play is concerned, Dhanda is a dynamic playmaker. He likes to operate from the middle and has the ability to not only act as a ball-carrier but also switch the play with some delightful long balls. The 22-year-old is also capable of drifting into the wider areas in order to provide crosses into the box – making him quite a well-rounded attacking midfielder.

Is Dhanda The Ideal Option For Leeds United?
Leeds United have had their fair share of problems following a mixed start to their Premier League season. In the attacking unit, the club has lacked a reliable alternative for the likes of Mateusz Klich and Rodrigo Moreno – players who can cause problems for the opposition from the middle of the park.
Tyler Roberts, for one, was a disappointment even in the Championship. So the Welshman has predictably struggled in the top-flight and faces an uncertain future at the club. That is where Dhanda could come into the fray.
The Swansea City star could replace Roberts in the team, thus becoming the number one alternative for players like Klich, Pablo Hernandez and Rodrigo. As mentioned earlier, the 22-year-old has the dynamism and the technical prowess necessary to thrive under the tactical setup of Marcelo Bielsa.
A move to Elland Road could be beneficial for the player as well, giving him an ideal opportunity to make his breakthrough in the Premier League. However, with Leipzig, Marseille and Bournemouth also interested, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Dhanda in the second half of this campaign.
