Leeds United look to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League when they play hosts to Burnley on Sunday. The Whites slumped to a humiliating 6-2 defeat at the hands of rivals Manchester United in their last game and having secured just one win in four matches, they will be desperate for all three points this weekend.
Predicted 4-1-4-1 Leeds United Lineup Vs Burnley
Defence
Marcelo Bielsa is still missing out on the services of some of his key defensive players including new signing Robin Koch. Liam Cooper had also picked up a knock this week, so he remains a doubt for this fixture, though the Argentine tactician has confirmed that Diego Llorente is in a condition to play again.
It won’t be surprising to see the Spaniard start either, in the potential absence of Cooper. Therefore, he should form the central defensive partnership alongside Luke Ayling, with the Leeds fans hoping that the presence of the former Real Sociedad defender can add some much-needed solidity at the back this weekend.
Elsewhere, Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski are guaranteed starters in the fullback positions while Illan Meslier should also retain his place in between the sticks.
Midfield
In midfield, Kalvin Phillips is walking on a disciplinary tight rope as picking up a yellow card could result in him getting suspended for next week’s game against West Brom. The same can be said for Mateusz Klich, although both of them are more than likely to retain their place in central midfield, though the latter should operate in a much more advanced role.
Rodrigo Moreno should also continue in the number ten position, ahead of Pablo Hernandez and Tyler Roberts. The Spaniard might even join forces with the central striker, thus creating a situational 4-4-2.
Attack
Patrick Bamford should once again spearhead the line for Leeds United this weekend. The forward has netted nine goals in the Premier League so far, but his home form has been quite disappointing. He did, however, score in the last home game against Newcastle United, and it will be interesting to see whether or not he can maintain the momentum.
Bamford is likely to be supported by the wide attacking duo of Jack Harrison and Raphinha, with Bielsa most likely to deploy Ian Poveda as a second-half substitute.
