Tottenham Hotspur’s winless run of games in the Premier League continues as they stumble to yet another 1-1 draw with Wolves this evening. It was a classic Jose Mourinho performance from Spurs, who settled for the slender one-goal lead after Tanguy Ndombele initially scored the opener in the first minute of the game. While they did defend well, a late goal from Romain Saiss denied the two extra points for the Lilywhites.
Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings Vs Wolves
Hugo Lloris 8/10
Hugo Lloris was brilliant in between the sticks. He was reliable with his claims and was always willing to put himself on the line, notably saving a great opportunity for Fabio Silva in the second half. He was rather unfortunate to miss out on the clean sheet.
Davinson Sanchez 7.5/10
Starting ahead of Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez played well for the most part. He was solid in dealing with the Wolves pressure, using his physical prowess to good effect.
Eric Dier 7.5/10
Eric Dier also enjoyed a decent game in defence. The Englishman repelled most of the Wolves’ attacks, emerging as an imposing figure in the Tottenham backline. Had a nervy final ten minutes of the game during which the opposition scored the equaliser.
Ben Davies 7.5/10
Ben Davies was excellent throughout the game this evening. The left-back always remained switched on when dealing with Adama Traore but a lapse in concentration allowed Romain Saiss to lose him and score the equaliser late in the game.
Matt Doherty 6/10
Matt Doherty couldn’t quite impose himself on the proceedings as the Irishman’s poor form continues. His offensive support was rather underwhelming this evening.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 7/10
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg didn’t exactly command things in the middle of the park. However, the Dane did well to create a few turnovers and helping Tottenham remain competent throughout the game.
Harry Winks 7/10
Harry Winks’ defensive game was excellent against Wolves as he got rid of multiple loose balls. The midfielder’s forward balls, on the other hand, were far from brilliant.
Tanguy Ndombele 8.5/10
Tanguy Ndombele was one of the best players in this game for Tottenham. He was, in fact, a lone spark in an otherwise dire attacking performance, using his clever footwork to deceive the opposing defenders on multiple occasions. A tremendous effort to find the back of the net as well.
Sergio Reguilon 7.5/10
Sergio Reguilon produced an impactful performance on the left-hand side. He made some good runs forward, using his freedom to cause some problems for Nelson Semedo before being taken off in the second half.
Son Heung-Min 6/10
Son Heung-Min didn’t enjoy the best of games against Wolves. The South Korean international was barely involved in the game and looked clumsy at times in regards to his decision making.
Harry Kane 6.5/10
Harry Kane provided a good shift in the number nine position but lacked the energy and the willingness to make things happen in the final third.
SUBSTITUTES
Steven Bergwijn 5/10
Replaced Reguilon early in the second half and produced virtually nothing going forward. He’s seemingly becoming an ineffective player in the final third for Spurs.
Moussa Sissoko 6/10
Moussa Sissoko added more steel in the Tottenham midfielder after coming on for Ndombele during the final phase of the game.
Erik Lamela N/A
A late replacement for Son.
