Leicester City will play hosts to second-placed Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening with the two sides sitting just a couple of places apart on the Premier League table.
The Lilywhites will come into the game on the back off an unfortunate 2-1 loss at Anfield which saw them getting knocked off the top of the table. Similarly, the Foxes fell prey to Carlo Ancelotti’s men as they lost 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. It goes without saying that Jose Mourinho will be desperate to pick up a win this time around hoping to close the points gap with Liverpool and keep his side in the title race.
The home team will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with a couple of tweaks from their last game. Tanguy Ndombele might get the nod over Lo Celso whereas Sergio Reguilon looks likely to make his way back into the starting XI.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Hugo Lloris will continue to operate in between the sticks for Spurs after failing to keep a clean sheet in each of his last two matches. Eric Dier looks set to continue his partnership with Toby Alderweireld at the heart of Tottenham’s backline. Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon should cover up the wide positions, fulfilling the roles of right-back and left-back respectively.
While Mourinho will ask Aurier to keep things tight at the back, Reguilon will be given the freedom to burst forward at times and create menace down Leicester’s right flank.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko will slot into the holding midfield positions thus shielding the ‘back four’ whereas Tanguy Ndombele might take up the advanced midfield position. The French international is expected to have Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn on his either side, fulfilling the left-wing and right-wing roles respectively.
The 89-times South Korea international has been very clinical in front of the goal this season and will be hoping to add to his tally of eleven goals in the League.
Lo Celso will have to settle for a place on the bench but might be called into action in the second half if needed.
Attack
Harry Kane will once again spearhead the attack for Spurs. The English striker has been in blistering form recently, carrying most of his team’s creative and goal-scoring burdens. Undoubtedly, he will fancy his chances of getting his name on the scoresheet when he faces off the Leicester defence that has kept just four clean sheets in thirteen league games this season.
