Newcastle United will play hosts to West Bromwich Albion at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon hoping to secure maximum points at home. The Magpies managed to earn an impressive 2-0 win away at Crystal Palace in their last Premier League outing. Hence, they will be full of confidence heading into this weekend’s showdown versus Slaven Bilić’s men.
Steve Bruce will set his team up in a 4-4-2 formation and could bring Jamaal Lascelles back for this game if he can pass a late fitness test. Ciaran Clark will be on stand-by on the bench just in case the English centre-back fails to recover in time for this league clash at Tyneside.
4-4-2 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face West Brom
Defence
Karl Darlow will lineup in between the sticks for the Magpies after he secured a clean sheet versus the Eagles in his last league start. As mentioned earlier, Lascelles is expected to return to Bruce’s first XI and operate alongside Federico Fernandez as they look to keep the Baggies attackers at bay this weekend.
Jamal Lewis will continue to feature as the left-back while Javier Manquillo fills in on the other flank as the right-back. Bruce will ask both his full-backs to keep a good defensive shape at the back and also provide some support to the front players from the wide areas.
DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield
Sean Longstaff will continue to anchor the midfield along with Jonjo Shelvey as they try to dominate the battle at the centre of the park. Miguel Almiron will once again focus on using his pace to cause some problems for the West Brom defenders on the left flank. Jeff Hendrick will fill in on the other side as the right-sided wide player.
Jacob Murphy and Matt Ritchie will have to settle for a spot on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Callum Wilson will lead the charge along with Joelinton in the final third. Both Newcastle strikers managed to get their names on the scoresheet versus the Eagles last month, so they will look to do the same when they lace up to face off against the Baggies defence on Saturday.
Dwight Gayle is a major doubt for this game but could be named on the bench. However, Andy Carroll is unlikely to be available for selection this weekend.
