Everton will take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening hoping to build on their impressive 1-0 win over Chelsea last weekend. Despite that victory, the Toffees are not playing their best football at the moment, so they will have to dig in deep if they want to earn something from this midweek clash in the Premier League.
Carlo Ancelotti will probably set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and might bring Andre Gomes back to his first-team in place of Gylfi Sigurdsson. Even though the Icelandic international scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot versus Chelsea last weekend, the Everton boss might choose to replace him as Gomes will help his team retain the ball a bit better at the centre of the park.
4-3-3 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Jordan Pickford produced a match-winning display against Frank Lampard’s men, so his confidence will be sky-high heading into this contest in midweek when he will once again lineup as Ancelotti’s first-choice keeper. Michael Keane will once again partner Yerry Mina at the centre of the Toffees backline as they look to stop Leicester’s Jamie Vardy from finding the back of the net later this week.
Seamus Coleman is unlikely to recover in time for this game which means that Mason Holgate will continue at right-back while Ben Godfrey fills in on the other side as a makeshift left-back. Ancelotti will ask them to keep things tidy at the back and feed some long balls to Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.
Midfield
Andre Gomes, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will make up the Everton midfield. The talented trio will have to pass the ball well if they are to dominate the midfield battle while withstanding the high press of the Leicester players.
As mentioned earlier, Sigurdsson might have to settle for a place on the bench alongside Tom Davies as they both await their chance to shine as the impact substitutes if required.
Attack
The Toffees frontline will be comprised of Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alex Iwobi as they focus on causing some problems for the Foxes defenders in midweek. Calvert-Lewin is still topping the Premier League goal-scoring charts with 11 goals to his name. Hence, we can expect him to be a major goal-threat at the King Power Stadium.
