Arsenal are looking to extend their winning run to three games in the Premier League when they face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. The Gunners have made an impressive turnaround in the recent week, securing back to back wins over Chelsea and Brighton. So claiming all three points this weekend could help them continue their recovery following a dismal start to the campaign.
Predicted Arsenal Lineup Vs West Bromwich Albion
Defence
Mikel Arteta is set to miss out on Gabriel Magalhaes once again, with the youngster continuing his quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19. David Luiz is another doubt, so we can expect Rob Holding and Pablo Mari to continue their central defensive partnership this weekend.
There shouldn’t be any defensive changes elsewhere either, with Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin once again occupying the fullback positions. The former, in particular, could be given a more attacking role while Bellerin will look to provide additional defensive support to the two centre-backs.
Bernd Leno is another guaranteed starter in goal as the German hopes to register back to back clean sheets this weekend.
Midfield
Thomas Partey still remains sidelined for Arsenal and it appears unlikely that he will be available for this encounter. Arteta could thus have no option but to continue with the central midfield pairing of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka.
Dani Ceballos is a potential alternative, but the Spaniard is already facing an uncertain future at Emirates, so it remains unlikely that he will get the nod ahead of Elneny.
One player who could surely start, however, is Emile Smith Rowe. The youngster has impressed the onlookers with his smart movements and passing over the past couple of matches. He should, therefore, retain his role in the number ten position.
Attack
Arteta could face a selection dilemma in the attacking department. Alexandre Lacazette is currently in good form, but the return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Martinelli means the Spaniard will have to sacrifice one of these three forwards.
Martinelli has started in the last two matches for Arsenal and given his poor injury record, the Brazilian might be given a breather this weekend. It should pave the way for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to start on the flanks, alongside Bukayo Saka while the Arsenal attack will be spearheaded by the in-form Lacazette.
