Premiership leaders Rangers continued their romp atop the league table with a comfortable 3-0 win against St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. The Gers started the game in blistering fashion, and they looked like a team desperate to regain their seemingly dwindling form. Steven Gerrard’s men opened the scoring through Kemar Roofe, after an attempt from Ianis Hagi was saved. Glen Kamara was the next player to get on the scoresheet, as a sensational pass from Joe Aribo cut the Saints defence in half. Ianis Hagi then got in on the act with a good goal to finish off what was pretty much a routine win for the Gers.
Here Are The Rangers Player Ratings Vs St. Johnstone:
Rangers Player Ratings Vs St. Johnstone
Allan McGregor – 6
The veteran keeper didn’t have too much to do over the course of the ninety as the game was dominated by Rangers during most spells. Made a couple of saves to keep the clean sheet.
James Tavernier – 7.5
The Englishman worked extremely hard in the defensive phase of things, although not everything he tried in the final third came off. No faulting the skipper for his sheer work-rate though.
Connor Goldson – 7
The English centre-half made a couple of important interceptions in the defensive third to ensure that the home side were unable to find any space in behind the Rangers back-line.
Filip Helander – 6.5
The defender didn’t look quite as comfortable alongside Goldson as Leon Balogun usually does, but his performance was good enough to keep the clean sheet. Didn’t make any big mistakes.
Borna Barisic – 7
The Croatian international drive forward whenever Rangers were in possession and linked up the play expertly too. Made a couple of vital tackles and clearances at the back as well.
Steven Davis – 7
The veteran midfielder was neat and tidy from his role in the middle of the park, as he passed the ball around with good amount of confidence. Tracked back when required to as well.
Glen Kamara – 8
The Finnish international’s impressive run in the core of Steven Gerrard’s team continued tonight after a good display. Got a well-deserved goal, which he finished off in great style.
Joe Aribo – 8
The Nigerian international attacker was brought back into the eleven in place of Scott Arfield tonight, and it’s safe to say that he was brilliant. Played a peach of a pass to release Kamara.
Ianis Hagi – 8
Although the Romanian gradually fizzled out of the game as the second half wore on, his display was one worth a lot of praise. Showed his true quality in the first-half, and took his goal well.
Kemar Roofe – 7.5
The Jamaican striker could’ve arguably offered a little more presence in the final third, but he scored a typical poacher’s goal to open the scoring. Linked up the attacking play quite well.
Ryan Kent – 7
The Englishman was good in glimpses, but his early-season form has now seemingly passed. Did work hard on the ball and tried to make things happen in the final third of the pitch as well.
