Wolverhampton Wanderers will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night looking to secure a result away from home in the Premier League. The West Midlands club did well to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw versus Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, which will give them some confidence heading into this midweek encounter at the Theatre of Dreams.
Nuno Espirito Santo will stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name an unchanged team later this week. However, it will be a real challenge for the Wolves players to recover in time for this game as they will have less than 72 hours to prepare for this contest at Manchester.
4-2-3-1 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester United
Defence
Rui Patricio will retain his spot in goal for Wolves after conceding an early goal versus Spurs in his last league outing. Conor Coady will continue to play along with Romain Saïss at the centre of Nuno Espirito Santo’s defence as they try to produce a solid defensive display against the Red Devils in midweek.
Nelson Semedo should get a start at right-back while Marcal continues to operate as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack. Rayan Aït-Nouri will have to settle for a place on the bench but might get a chance to impress as a second-half substitute if required.
Midfield
Joao Moutinho will anchor the midfield alongside Ruben Neves as they focus on establishing their dominance at the centre of the park. The promising trio of Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence and Adama Traore will play just ahead of them as part of the Wolves attack. All three of them will need to have a good game if Wolves are to stand a chance of claiming something from this game at Old Trafford.
Vítor Ferreira will make up the numbers on the bench as he offers cover for the midfield positions.
Attack
Fabio Silva could get another shot to give a good account of himself as a lone centre-forward up top. The Portuguese striker needs a goal to build up his confidence in the injury absence of Raul Jimenez. Hence, he will be quite motivated to cause a few problems for the Man United defenders on Tuesday night.
