In a recent interview with Tuttosport, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has tipped Real Madrid to be a good fit for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala as he said, “I am still convinced that he is the new Messi. Dybala, as well as a champion, is a very good guy. And I can’t understand why many insiders tend to forget him.
“That Dybala is not a starter in Serie A is a blasphemy. Paulo should have followed my advice three years ago, to move away from Turin.
“I told him clearly: ‘Paulo, for your own sake, you must leave Juventus’. His football is fantasy [and is best suited to] Spain, at either Barcelona or Real Madrid.”
Zamparini went on to add, “The advice I give him today is the same: ‘Paulo, leave Juventus and go to Real Madrid’. Maybe as early as January. It would be a deal [that is good] for everyone.”
Dybala’s Uneventful Start To This Season
The 26-year-old has made a lacklustre start to this campaign after scoring only once in six matches for the Turin giants this term in multiple competitions. The Argentine sensation is not playing his best football at the moment, but on his day, he can still be a potent goal-threat in the final third.
Despite his lack of productivity this season, Dybala has done well to average 2.3 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League this season. The Laguna Larga-born talent has also interchanged possession well with his teammates as he has made 89.3% of his attempted passes in both those competitions (stats via whoscored).
What Will The Argentine International Bring To The Spanish Capital?
Dybala’s pace is electric, which allows him to lose his marker and complete some dangerous dribbles with the ball in the decisive end of the field. He is a technically gifted footballer who is proficient at retaining possession and engineering some decent chances to score for his teammates.
The Argentine frontman is usually a lethal finisher in front of the opposition goal and excels at converting penalties. However, his numbers have gone down for Juve this season which has been a slight cause for concern for Andrea Pirlo. At 26, he is at the peak stage of his playing career, so Zinedine Zidane might fancy getting the best out of him in the coming seasons.
Will Dybala Be A Good Choice For Los Blancos?
Dybala could serve as a significant upgrade over Luka Jovic and would be an ideal attacking partner for Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Zidane is in dire need to inject some quality to his attacking department if he wants to have a realistic chance of reclaiming the UEFA Champions League crown in the future.
All in all, Dybala will be an excellent choice for Los Blancos, and with his contract set to run out in the summer of 2022, Zidane could potentially land him on a cut-price fee next summer.
