Real Madrid will be playing host to Deportivo Alaves at the Alfredo De Stefano Stadium on Matchday 11 of La Liga Santander. The Whites have dropped points in two fixtures on the trot and will be seeking to return to winning ways.
Zidane’s side was victorious in Milan by 2 goals to nil and will be gunning for the three points against Alaves. The visitors are struggling in the title race and are positioned 15th in the points table.
This fixture is expected to be relatively easy for an injury struck Real Madrid side. Zidane will be heading into the fixture without Alvaro Odriozola, Federico Valverde, Luka Jovic and Karim Benzema. El Capitan, Sergio Ramos is also not expected to be available for this Matchday 11 encounter.
Here’s how Los Blancos could take to the field against Alavaes on Sunday –
Defence
Thibaut Courtois would be taking command between the sticks after a well deserved clean sheet against Inter Milan. The Belgian seems to be growing in confidence and the best of him is yet to come. Dani Carvajal will be starting at the right-back slot. The Spaniard’s return from injury has been an enormous boost for the side.
Raphael Varane and Eder Militao are expected to start in the heart of Real Madrid’s defence. Militao missed out in midweek after failing to clear his PCR Test. Marcelo could be given the nod for this fixture ahead of Ferland Mendy. Marcelo has been absent from the scene for a while now and Zidane could feature him this weekend.
Midfield
Luka Modric will be featuring in midfield after a stunning display against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League. Martin Odegaard will be replaced by Casemiro in the starting eleven. Toni Kroos will be retaining his place in the eleven after bossing the game at the San Siro stadium. The German amassed a passing accuracy of 98% and did not seem to put a foot wrong.
Attack
Marco Asensio is expected to replace Lucas Vasquez in the playing eleven. Vasquez got himself an assist against Inter but will make way for Asensio who has been in some scintillating form lately. Mariano will be occupying the number nine position with Karim Benzema and Luka Jovic out of contention for a spot. Eden Hazard will retain his place in the side after a penalty goal last time around. The Belgian will be replaced in the second half keeping in mind the upcoming congestion of fixtures.
