Arsenal have been among the top performers in this new edition of the Premier League campaign. The Gunners have secured victories in three of their four league matches, and the club has also fared well in the transfer market, notably making some eye-catching moves including the acquisition of Thomas Partey.
Here, at The 4th Official, we will talk about three best performers for Arsenal so far this season, though in no particular order.
Dani Ceballos
Extending the loan spell of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos was an absolute masterstroke from Mikel Arteta, and the move has paid dividends for Arsenal so far this campaign.
The Spaniard has emerged as a vital cog in the Arsenal midfield, continuing his solid partnership with Granit Xhaka in the double pivot.
Unlike in the initial stages of his career at Emirates, Ceballos has proved himself to be a courageous leader in the middle of the park, showcasing incredible aggression and fighting spirit.
It has been combined with the midfielder’s’ existing creativity, making him a spark in the middle of the park.
As Arsenal brace themselves for the arrival of big-money signing Thomas Partey, Ceballos will surely have more freedom in dictating the game, after the international break and the fans will hope that he could provide that creative void that has been formed due to the absence of Mesut Ozil.
Gabriel Magalhaes
Gabriel Magalhaes has been by far Arsenal’s best defender so far this season. Ever since his promising debut against Fulham, the Brazilian has grown with confidence, despite the immense competition in central defence. He has proved himself to be a vital component in Arteta’s three-man backline.
Gabriel has impressed the onlookers primarily due to his temperament. He has appeared extremely calm in possession and while defending, ultimately instilling more confidence among his teammates. In addition, the ex-LOSC Lille centre-back has also showcased a brilliant range of passing, thus adding another dimension to Arsenal’s build-up from the back.
As a result, Arsenal have appeared more solid than they have been in recent years, with Gabriel only likely to improve in the coming matches.
Hector Bellerin
Hector Bellerin has been quite the unsung hero for Arsenal this season.
The Spaniard, who is one of the most popular figures in the club, has settled himself well under Arteta, despite a rusty start. This season, in particular, the right-back has been extremely consistent, providing support to the right-sided centre-back whenever necessary. He is yet to have an objectively bad game either.
However, it is Bellerin’s offensive work-rate that has been highly effective. His forays down the flanks have already caused a lot of trouble for the opposition, with the defender most notably providing the assist for Bukayo Saka’s goal in the recent 2-1 win over Sheffield United.
