In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester United are in talks with Barcelona over a loan move for their winger Ousmane Dembele. It is believed that the Red Devils are hoping to land the French wide player on loan before the transfer deadline later today.
Man United will complete both deals for Cavani and Alex Telles tomorrow… and are still in negotiations with Barcelona for Ousmane Démbélé, offering a loan.
If Démbélé will join Manchester United, Barcelona will try again to sign Memphis Depay on a permanent deal. 🔴 #MUFC #FCB

Dembele’s Mounting Injury Concerns At Catalonia
The Vernon-born speedster had to go through an injury-ravaged season at the Nou Camp in the last term when he missed a lot of games because of multiple injuries. Dembele featured in nine matches for Barca in the previous campaign, netting one goal in the process across various competitions.
Despite his growing struggles with injuries, the 23-year-old managed to catch the eye with his performances over the past year as he averaged 1.0 shots, 1.6 key passes and 2.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga last season. The 21-time French international distributed possession relatively well in the opposition half after completing 78% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
Dembele is not a guaranteed starter under Ronald Koeman’s stewardship. He might benefit from making a season-long loan switch to Old Trafford as it will allow him to kickstart his career and find some consistency at the top level so that he can come back to the Nou Camp as a better version of himself next summer.
What Will The French Playmaker Bring To The Table?
Dembele boasts blistering pace, which helps him complete some promising solo dribbles out on the wide areas. He excels at getting to the by-line and drag the opposition defenders out of position through his clever movement and quick link-up play with his teammates in the final third.
However, the French international can benefit from improving his productivity in front of goal after ending the previous campaign with just a goal to show for his efforts. He will also need to stay injury-free and show a clean bill of health if he intends to get a regular run of matches this season.
Is Dembele The Right Fit For The Catalans?
Dembele will have a real challenge in his hands if he decides to join Man United before the transfer window slams shut later today. He will have to fight for a place on the wings with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, if Dembele can get some confidence back and find some form at the highest level, then he would prove to be a good fit for the Red Devils even if he comes into the club temporarily for this 2020-21 campaign. At 23, the Frenchman will only get better with age, so he will be a shrewd loan acquisition for Man United if they can bring him to the north-west of England later today.
