Aston Villa will face off against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday evening hoping to maintain their 100% winning run in the Premier League. The Villans managed to secure an emphatic 7-2 victory over the reigning champions of England, Liverpool before the international break which will give them a massive confidence boost going into this weekend’s encounter versus the Foxes.
Dean Smith will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might be inclined to name an unchanged side for this clash on the road. Both Ollie Watkins and Jack Grealish were magnificent against the Reds earlier this month, so they will once again carry most of the away team’s goal-scoring workload up top.
4-3-3 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Emiliano Martínez will operate in between the sticks for the West Midlands outfit after conceding two goals versus Liverpool in his last league start. Ezri Konsa will once again resume his defensive partnership with Tyrone Mings at the centre of the Villa backline as they try to keep Leicester’s Jamie Vardy quiet during the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Matt Targett looks to put in another energetic performance as the left-back. Smith will ask both his full-backs to keep things tight on the defensive end of the field as well as make a few overlapping ranks in the opposition half.
Midfield
The Villans midfield will be comprised of Ross Barkley, Douglas Luiz and John McGinn as they focus on getting a stranglehold in the game at the centre of the park. All three midfielders seem to be growing in confidence, but they will have to work hard if they are to restrict the Foxes from creating too many clear-cut chances throughout the 90 minutes.
Conor Hourihane will have to settle for a spot on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Jack Grealish will hope to create some inviting goal-scoring opportunities down the left flank while Trezeguet looks to impress as the right-sided winger. Ollie Watkins will once again get a chance to lead the line for the Villans down the middle. He managed to bag a hattrick in his last league appearance which will keep him in high spirits heading into this weekend’s clash at the King Power.
Keinan Davis will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to shine as an impact substitute in the second half if Smith decides to call upon his services.
