McNeil enjoyed another solid campaign at the Turf Moor after producing a series of productive displays on the left side of Sean Dyche’s attack. The Rochdale-born wide player featured in 40 matches for the Lancashire outfit last season, netting two goals and providing six assists in the process across all fronts.
The 20-year-old managed to influence the game at both ends of the pitch as he averaged 1.2 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 1.3 shots, 1.4 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign. He has taken care of the ball well based on his pass completion rate of 79.1% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
The three-time England U-21 international has got the potential to become a major star in English football soon. Maybe joining a club like Man United could give him the platform to take his game to another level. The Red Devils have currently got Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James as their first-choice wingers. Hence, Solskjaer won’t be able to guarantee McNeil regular playing time which will be a concern for the player.

McNeil has developed a healthy habit of completing some lung-bursting dribbles down the left flank.
