According to Marca, Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation of Pedri. The FC Barcelona youngster has emerged on the radar of the Bavarian giants, who are keen on signing him either permanently or on loan. Pedri’s future at Barcelona remains uncertain as the club haven’t decided on his fate next season, putting Bayern Munich on red alert, though the situation might be resolved soon.
Pedri’s Story At Barcelona
Pedri only joined Barcelona last summer, in a €5 million move from Las Palmas, though the transfer was only made official this summer. He was allowed to spend the 2019/20 season with Las Palmas but was brought in with a vision of strengthening the club’s youth department especially with a host of talented youngsters leaving La Masia academy in recent years in search of first-team football.
Pedri, however, was always expected to enjoy a quick rise to prominence as he had already made his professional breakthrough with Las Palmas in the Segunda Division last season, taking part in 11 goals in 36 matches.
As a result, the winger was a part of Barcelona’s first-team during the pre-season preparation and even impressed the onlookers with his performance against Nastic de Tarragona.
Unfortunately, Barcelona are yet to decide on whether or not to promote him to the senior side. Although Ronald Koeman considers him to be a key asset for the club, there are fears that the 17-year-old may fall behind the likes of Ansu Fati, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele in the pecking order.

Where Does He Fit At Bayern Munich?
One might argue that Bayern Munich might not be the best suitor for Pedri at the moment. The Bavarians have a solid attacking unit that has been further strengthened by the addition of Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
However, it is fair to point out that the German international hasn’t played any football since picking up an unfortunate injury at the start of last season. Also, the Bundesliga champions have lost Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic, as the duo have returned to their parent clubs following the end of their respective loan spells.
Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski are also on the wrong side of their 30s and might not serve for long. As for academy options, Bayern have recently offloaded rising star Oliver Batista-Meier, who has joined Heerenveen on loan. That is where Pedri could be useful.
The Spaniard could be an ideal alternative to the likes of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman. The fact that he can feature as an attacking midfielder means he could even provide back-up for Muller as well, making him a viable option for Hansi Flick.
